Sliders, Belly Bombs, Gut Grenades, call them what you will, these little burgers hold a special place in my heart. They’re fast, tasty and you can eat them with one hand. You all know my love for the legend, Mr. Alton Brown. This is his recipe with just a few tweaks. You can add any toppings you’d like, mushrooms, grilled onions, blue cheese, bacon…know what I’m sayin? I urge you to strongly consider making these at your earliest convenience.
In a small bowl, mix together the onion powder, garlic powder, pepper, and salt.
Line a half sheet pan with parchment paper and place the ground beef right in the middle. Lay a sheet of plastic wrap right over the top of that. These are non-negotiable steps. You will thank me later.
Roll the meat out with a rolling pin until it is very thin and reaches all sides of the pan.
Remove the plastic wrap and sprinkle the seasoning mixture evenly over the top.
Now, carefully remove the parchment paper from the pan and lay on a flat surface. Fold the meat in half using the parchment paper.
You’ll have a smaller slab of meat that looks like this.
Using a pizza cutter, cut into 8 squares. Wrap the buns in foil and park in a 250 degree oven for 5-10 minutes. Place the burgers on a 350 degree griddle or a grill lined with aluminum foil. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side. If using cheese, pop it on after you flip the burger so it’s nice and melted. Mmmmmmm, melty cheese!
Pull the buns out of the oven, spread them with a little mayo and top with a burger. You can add some grilled onions, ketchup, mustard or anything else your little heart desires. These babies go with anything!

Sliders are favorites and especially if they are good burgers! I like all your directions – must be a little difficult to roll the meat within the sheet pan 🙂

It’s a little tricky, but once you do it, it’s no biggie and so worth it 🙂
